You’ll meet some of the 2021 Gold Award Girl Scouts and see how you (yes, YOU) have what it takes to become a Bronze, Silver, or Gold Award Girl Scout. | Juliette's Jam October 22-24 @ KPC Join Girl Scouts from across the council for an exciting weekend all about outdoor skills. Minimal impact camping, safety and first aid, knot tying, knife safety, fire building, outdoor cooking, map and compass, and what to wear are the eight basic outdoor skills. There are three different ways you and your troop can participate. 1. Learner- girls will learn the 8 basic outdoor skills on Saturday. Learners participate for the day only- no over night camping. Ideal for Daisies, Brownies and anyone with little to no camping experience. 2. Competitor- Girls will show off their knowledge of the 8 basic outdoor skills in a friendly competition against girls and troops of the same program level. Competitors will set up a primitive campsite and participate in other fun competitions like best campsite, best troop flag, surprise ingredient cooking contest, and pancake flipping! Awards will be presented Sunday Morning. Competitors will spend the night Saturday night. Ideal for Juniors and up for those with some camping experience. 3. Teacher- girls experienced in the 8 basic outdoor skills will teach the skills to those participating as learners. Teachers will set up their model primitive campsite Friday evening and are invited to compete in the surprise ingredient cooking and pancake flipping competitions. Awards will be presented on Sunday morning. Teachers will spend the night Friday and Saturday. Ideal for Cadettes and up with extensive camping experience.
Lunch on Saturday is included in the event fee for all participants. Troops will be responsible for providing and preparing all other food. All outdoor cooking methods will be allowed according to Safety Activity Checkpoint.
All participants will receive the brand new GSNCA Outdoor patch and Juliette’s Jam charm. Winners of the 8 Outdoor Skills competitions will receive the charm for that activity. Teachers will be given the charm for the skill that they lead.

| Mini-Leadership Summit 2021 in Tuscaloosa Save the Date Missed out on the opportunity to attend the 2021 Girl Leadership Summit? Great news! We’re bringing our older girls one more opportunity to join in on the fun on December 11th, from 1-4pm in Tuscaloosa, AL at Stillman College. Juniors through Ambassadors who couldn’t attend the Summit in August will hear all about how to lead with Healthy Minds and Healthy Bodies from local speakers and through hands on activities. Create vision boards and learn to use journaling to imagine your future. Learn what it means to take care of yourself as you take the lead in your community and lots more! | Think Like an Engineer Virtual Journey GSNCA will be offering this multi-level journey for Cadettes, Seniors and Ambassadors from November 29th-December 22nd , 2021. We understand that scheduling constraints for older girls can make completing journeys difficult. Designed to have a flexible participation format, girls can participate in this journey live via scheduled Zoom calls, or work on the design challenges on their own time and upload their work to our Google Classroom. | Highest Award Training All of our Girl Scouts are already World Changers. Our Juniors, Cadettes, Seniors and Ambassadors can take that status to the next level by earning one of the highest awards in Girl Scouting – the Bronze, Silver or Gold Award. Bronze and Silver Award Training is available for girls and troop leaders in gsLearn. Virtual Gold Award Training dates have been added to the event schedule through December. Seniors and Ambassadors are invited to attend a training session to learn more about what it takes to Go Gold and ask any questions they might have about getting started. | Bronze, Silver and Gold Award Final Report Deadline Reminder Are you a Girl Scout Cadette, Senior or Ambassador finishing up a highest award project? Don’t forget, the deadline to submit the final paperwork is September 30th of the year you bridge to the next Girl Scout level. So Juniors that just bridged to Cadette, Cadettes that just bridged to Senior, and Ambassadors that just bridged to Adult, this deadline applies to you! Bronze and Silver Awards are approved by troop leaders, so please be sure to check in and make sure your troop leader has submitted the final report. | 2021 Fall Product Program The Fall Product Program teaches our Girl Scouts the Five Essential Skills to use a lifetime – Goal Setting, Decision Making, Money Management, People Skills, and Business Ethics. Girls also earn individual rewards when they participate and Troops receive proceeds to use at the beginning of the Girl Scout year.
