Check your MyGS for registered girls and get a kickstart to the Cookie Program by ensuring that your troop list is correct and up to date. Girls will not be marked inactive after the Initial Order is submitted on January 23, 2023. Contact customercare@girlscoutsnca.org to make edits or additions to your roster. Through the Iron Kids Patch Program, girls will learn the story of health and fitness in Birmingham by observing how people have made occupational changes from farm life to factories, which has made an impact on what people eat and how people use energy. Also, the Vulcan Iron Kids Patch creates an exhilarating experience for kids by combining history with physical activity. Participants can run up the 150-step staircase and slide on the grassy hills. This program will help each Girl Scout develop physical skills and learn the history of adapting through physical fitness. You are invited to attend the Troop Cookie Manager Informative Training to learn great tips to have a successful 2022-2023 Cookie Season! If you have been a Troop Cookie Manager for one to two years, you can check out the meeting on November 29th at 6:00 p.m. For more experienced Troop Cookie Managers, you can check out the meeting on December 1st at 6:00p.m. All of the trainings are virtual.  If you cannot make the trainings, there is a make-up training on December 5th at 6:00p.m. Sign up today for the trainings by clicking on the links below. Girls that participate can send in a picture and receive a fun patch between November 1st-30th. MORE DETAILS  November is Native American Heritage Month and Girl Scouts can celebrate by earning the Native American Heritage Month fun patch. Girls can celebrate the cultures, histories, and countless contributions that Native American communities have provided to the United States by learning more about the cultures of the Indian Nations in their state and across the country while earning a fun patch. BUY THE PATCH NATIVE AMERICAN HERITAGE MONTH ACTIVITY SHEET Native American History Girl Scout Day at Oakville Indian Mounds and Museum--November 29th Girl Scouts can enjoy a guided tour of the mounds and museum along with a hands-on take home activity at the Native American History Girl Scout Day at Oakville Indian Mounds and Museum in Danville, AL. Also, girls can visit the gift shop. Bring a picnic lunch for you and your Girl Scout to eat on the grounds or visit a local restaurant for lunch. MORE DETAILS   Native American Heritage Girl Scout Day AL State Parks--November 29th  Girls can learn about the Native American culture in central eastern Alabama, tour the Walt Farr Native American Museum, enjoy listening to a traditional Cherokee story called Brother Leaf with a hands-on craft, and follow the Park Naturalist (and Gold Awardee) on a short edible/ medicinal plant walk.
